After several months of confirmation class, Family Foundation School and Hancock, New York young adults were ready to confirm their faith as Catholics.

On Friday, May 15,  Bishop Howard J. Hubbard of the Albany Diocese traveled to The Family Foundation School Chapel to confirm thirteen FFS students and three young adults from Hancock. Bishop Hubbard travels annually to Hancock to confirm young adults, but this was his first visit to FFS. “I was excited and grateful to be confirmed. It made me feel special because Bishop Hubbard was here at our chapel and spent time with each person,” said confirmand Laura W.

Each person that was confirmed chose a sponsor (a practicing Catholic) who will guide the newly confirmed person throughout their Catholic journey. When Bishop Hubbard confirmed each person,  sponsors stood behind them symbolizing that they will be behind the newly confirmed Catholics as they practice their faith.

Father Chris Welch of St. Paul the Apostle Church and Father Stephen Morris of FFS sat next to Bishop Hubbard as he confirmed the candidates they had prepared for confirmation.

There were also FFS students who were re-confirmed into the Catholic faith and committed to do the right thing.

By saying the words “I do,” the young adults of FFS and Hancock confirmed their commitment to living a Catholic way of life.
