Pauca Verba (a few words)
Saint Padre (Father) Pio was a Capuchin Franciscan Friar who lived with the Stigmata (the wounds of Jesus) for fifty years.

Saint Padre Pio’s Prayer After Receiving Holy Communion

Stay with me, Lord, so that I do not forget you. You know how quickly I abandon you.

Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and need your strength; I fall so often.

Stay with me, Lord: you are my life and without you I lack warmth of heart and spirit.

Stay with me, Lord, to show me what you desire of me.

Stay with me, Lord, so that I will hear your voice and follow you.

Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love you very much and remain in your company.

Stay with me, Lord, who desires to remain faithful to you.

Stay with me, Lord, my poor soul wants to be a place of consolation for you, a nest of love.

Stay with me, Lord. It is getting late and the day is coming to a close. Life passes. Death, judgment and eternity approach. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way.

Stay with me, Lord. It is getting late and death draws nearer. I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need you, my Jesus, in this night of exile!

Stay with me, Lord. In life with all its danger, Jesus, I need you.

Let me recognize you as your disciples did at the breaking of the bread on Easter night, so that this Holy Communion will be like a light dispelling the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

Stay with me, Lord: I look only for your love, your grace, your will, your heart, your spirit, because I love you and ask no other reward but to love you even more.

With a resolute love, I will love you entirely, with all my heart, here on earth and continue to love you perfectly in eternity. Amen

In Nick Vujicic’s recent newsletter from his organization Life Without Limbs, a woman writes after hearing Nick speak:

Sometimes we don’t know why things happen, but God knows and He knows what He is doing with our entire path in life. But we have to believe in God to understand this. Nick told us to trust God that people with disabilities have a purpose in life.

Nick’s purpose in traveling around the world is to share his wonder in the message of Jesus. He is very brave to do this, especially in going to those places where there is little handicap accessibility. What I admire the most is that Nick shares his courageous message of hope and faith with the people who need it most. I became stronger in my relationship with God after I listened to Nick. I heard that many people ask to be baptized after they hear Nick speak. So you see, you don’t need arms or legs to live for Christ, only a heart!

Many of us watched Nick Vujicic’s DVD: his traveling around the world, his message of hope in Christ, God’s having a purpose for each of us. In another film, we met some of his friends. Nick will be speaking on the west coast of the United States for the rest of this year. Can you imagine what he’d say to you if you had a chance to meet him and speak with him personally?
